Equipment
We own and operate the JVC GY-HD100U. The camera can shoot in either DV or HD; both formats can shoot 24p for a more cinematic look. Unlike the Panasonic DVX and HVX, the JVC's 16x Fujinon ProHD lens operates the same as all professional film lenses, with a mechanical control of focus, zoom and iris. We use a Sennheiser Shotgun Mic for optimum sound in the field and a Sennheiser Wireless Lav that is ideal for interviews. One IDX Endura 7s battery powers the camera for an entire day. The Sachtler Tripod System allows for smooth pan and tilts. And we are completely mobile with this entire camera package (including the laptop) on our backs with the Kata Backpack.
